AR-10 .308 Hog gun???

Phil

Say you were going to build a AR 10 for shooting pigs.

What bullet would you choose and why???

Phil.

If you don't reload check out DRT ammo. A couple of my friends have used it for African game as well as big hogs and it stops animals in their tracks.
For reloads try the Barnes TTSX bullets. They should feed well and have great terminal ballistics.

Factory, or handload? Pretty much any bullet you choose for your .308 will kill a hog. 165 BT would work.

I've killed close to 100 with a 110 AccuBomb out of my 6.8.

I would chose a light for caliber bullet, 125gr or there about, and use it. Lower recoil so I can stay in the scope longer and hit more pigs. Nosler Ballistic tips or Barnes TSX, or a bonded core bullet.

All depends are you shooting pigs or hunting pigs? Culling in numbers at any range or hunting at a given range? We've killed them with 22 through 338 with a variety of bullets all depends what you are trying to do, is distance and accuracy a factor?

I've got a dpms 243 "lite hunter" (I think that's the name - the one with the carbon handguard) with a 10 twist that shoots the berger 95 classic hunter bullet with great accuracy. I think that would be a great option.

(granted there isn't a pig within hundreds of miles of me, but I would sure think it would work well)
