Sloughhouse BR Shooters held our 3rd Chabot Special of the year at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in the heart of the Ione Triangle.
This is our most popular match format and attracts shooters from multiple venues, HP, F-Class, and traditional Group/Score Benchrest.
We shoot (4) 3-bull targets at 200 yards for both group & score. X’s are 11 so a 165 possible Score per Agg and the groups are actual measurement not broken back to MOA.
The 12 shooters who showed up were greeted by mild temps starting in the low 50's and warming up throughout the morning hitting the high 70's by the time we wrapped up @ noon. Winds were mild for the Ione Triangle, starting from the SE with very little tail, and picking up as the match went on, switching over to our normal SW flow by the 4th Agg.
Target 1:
Score had Roy Luchini coming in 1st steering his 30BR to a nice 156, Steve Raeder also with a 30BR took 2nd with a 155, Jeff Rodriguez 3rd at 153.
I took 1st in group shooting my vintage Teddy in 30BR to a nice .526 Agg, Roy was 2nd at .632, Ron Pepper 3rd with a .673 shooting (what else?) a 30 BR.
Target 2:
Score was taken by Jeff with a nice 156 (High Score of the match), just edging out Francis Lee who was 2nd with a 155, Ron Pepper 3rd on the tiebreaker (Group Agg) with a 151.
Jeff took 1st in Group with a sweet .480 Agg (Small Agg of the Match), I took 2nd with a .603, Francis steering his 30 BR to a 3rd place .672 Agg.
Conditions started picking up a bit as we started Target 3, but still relatively mild for our little corner of the Triangle.
Target 3:
Score had Roy laying down a 153 for 1st, there was a 3-way tie for 2nd at 152, I took the tiebreaker for 2nd, Jeff finishing 3rd..
Group had me 1st with a .684 Agg, George Palms 2nd with a .710, just edging out his buddy Roy who was 3rd with a .749.
Target 4: Now it's switched over to our normal L-R switchy flow and easy to get caught if you weren't careful. Not a lot of velocity just enough reverses to cause some bad words on the line!
Score was Jeff 1st again at 154, with Shawn Davison taking 2nd with a 152, beating out Roy on the tiebreaker who also had a 152 for 3rd.
Group had Jeff taking 1st finishing up with a nice .566 Agg, Shawn 2nd with a .697, beating out my .766 for 3rd.
Overall 4-Card Aggregate aka "The Money Match"
$10.00 of your entry fee goes back to the shooters 25% each to 1-3 in both Score & Group & 50% to the top 4 in the Overall.

Thanks to all the participants who came out to join us, we had John Hayes a new (to us) shooter join us, we hope you had a good time and will come out again.
A special thanks to Jeff & Dave who ramrodded the frame setup & acted as target crew/RSO. I couldn't pull these matches off without all the guys who pitch in and help.
Hope to see everyone next month, we have another Chabot match scheduled.
