The other day I didn't have my Kestrel with me but I did have my phone so I looked up a firing solution and noticed that if I input my altitude, air temp, and humidity (I used 50%) then changed the pressure to zero the app calculated the fire solution.
I carry a Whiz Wheel in my shooting bag as a back up to the Kestrel. With the Whiz Wheel you only have to know air temp and altitude to get a density altitude then use that to get your fire solution, so the question is with the phone app can you use like the Whiz Wheel?

Humidity is the least relavent of the 3 variables. Compare solutions w 100% humidity and 0% humidity. U will find them relatively close. To avoid figuring humidity you can just set it to 50% and forget it. Alternately, you could give yourself a slight edge by rounding to your local conditions for the time of year that you are in. For instance, NE US, in the warm months, leave humidity to 70%. For the cold months, set it to 30%.

I used 50% for humidity since its effect is minimal.
I was trying to use air temp, and altitude from a topo map as the only inputs for a valid firing solution. IE letting the app figure the density altitude or the correct drag, with only the temperature and altitude as know.
Will the app work properly with those inputs?

You need Station Pressure, or Barometric Pressure + Altitude.
