Aperture sights for picatiny railed bolt action

I was wanting to put some irons on my Tikka T3 or R700. Basically what Im going after: you know the standard carry handle aperture sights that come on, for instance, a Colt 6920 or whatever model Colt 16" barrel AR that came with detachable carry handle. What Im wanting is a set of sights as close as I can get to the sights on the ??A4 style?? removable carry handle. Or better yet the 1/2 x 1/2 MOA Nat'l Match sights they use in Hi Power Service Rifle! Just the closest I can get to sights like that, but lo profile and for/to be utilized on a bolt rifle...

What do you plan on doing for the front sight?

What he said.

I doubt that you are going to find a low profile carry handle style, but there are an infinite number of BUIS (Back Up Iron Sights) for ARs that are designed to mount on your rail, then all you need to do is figure out your front.

Carry handle rear sights use a space gun height front.

Rock river has a low pro (no handle) sight. Either their stand alone sight or tactical model. I would highly recommend having them double pinned as well to improve tracking.

Not going to get an AR sight on it I'm guessing. But you might look at Phoenix Precision sights.
This would be the easy button but I think you could get a NM carry handle from WOA to clamp right on a full length rail. Would look like hell.
The bigger issue will be getting a front sight at the right height. Best to use a ladder type front sight and turn the barrel down for the base.

whats your barrel diameter by the muzzle? Your barrel may need to be turned down to fit a std front sight base (.750 and .812 are standard).

Just curious why would you want an AR style sight when there are much better options for what your trying to do? What are you trying to do? Warner makes a very nice base that allows for an iron sight to be mounted. Also there there is the option of a Lipski base that clamps on to a pic rail. Pictured below is the lipski base with Warner #2. I would be looking for a set up like this before the carry handle.

Kimber use to make a really nice front and rear sight set for their model 82, don't very often see them for sell, but a guy on Gunbroker had a brand new set, front and rear still in factory box for sale awhile back, nobody seemed interested and then I had a guy ask pretty much the same question your asking and I pointed them to him... he snapped them up right now! Forgot exactly what it was he was asking for the set, but think it was around $80 bucks. Came close to buying them myself had been watching them for months, but just didn't have anything to put them on at the time, can kick myself now!
