barrels with 6mmbr?

I just picked up a blank from my local barrel maker Ron Smith. AB. Canada.

I just finished contouring the barrel and have it all dialed in for the chamber work. Getting excited……

I sure enjoyed the tour of his shop. I really enjoyed his home made rifling rig. The progressive twist part is genius.

The barrel finished out 1” at the muzzle and strait tapers to about 5” from the receiver.
The twist is 1:8 with a 1.5 progressive ratio.

I am new to the Bench Rest Sport, but a progressive twist makes perfect sense,theoretically). Why start off the bullet spining suddenly!
Start slower, then accelerate to the faster spin velocity. Most likely will not tear up the bullet/ barrel as much...interesting if it can be done in practice.
