Anyone Using Natural Gas Torches With Their Benchsource?

My gas grill is natural gas - running off a line that comes out of our house. It has a quick disconnect hose. I'm thinking a setup using natural gas torches on a Benchsource would be pretty sweet.

Has anyone done or looked into using natural gas to fuel torches for a Benchsource? I wonder if the orifice of a standard propane torch can be swapped out for a natural gas orifice?

Thanks.

Usually the goal is to heat up the neck and shoulder area as quickly as possible so that the annealing doesn't go too far down the case's body. Since propane burns hotter than natural gas, I think it's best to stick with the propane. But . . . if one can generate a flame that's as hot as the propane flame, then I see no reason not to use natural gas . . . especially if it can be more convenient. :)

Natural gas may have an objectional odor.

There is also a ripe one just west of Amarillo when traveling I-40. I seem to always forget to put the AC on recirc until I get that rude awakening, then it's OH, YEAH!

Been a while since I bought any Mapp Gas so I guess you're right. Must have been discontinued, just like me in not too many more years. :(;)

Was in a BIG Hardware store the other day and saw Mapp Gas on the shelf. Not sure if it was mixed with something else but it WAS on the shelf. I need to go back and get a closer look at the label.;)
So, if "it's" still available, does that mean I've got more lives to live? I sure hope so. Got way too many projects to finish up.:D

I've driven by that one. It's the same deal driving I-25 N out of Denver when you start to smell Greeley, CO. Phew!
