Anyone using Linux, Garmin Xero C1 and GRT?

Just got a Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph, only problems I foresee are that a) I don't use a smart phone, and b) I use Linux -- specifically Kubuntu -- for my operating system.

I haven't used the chrono yet, but upon plugging it into my Linux box to charge the battery, I see the machine recognizes it just like a hard drive or similar device, so I suspect I can get at the files created...just not sure yet how useful they will be to me in their raw form.

I see here:
that someone has created software to convert the Garmin files into files that can be used with Gordon's Reloading Tool (which I haven't yet used, either)...

So is anyone here also using this software with some flavor of Linux/UNIX? How are you getting on with those tools? (I'm trying to avoid having to install a Windows VM since I hate VirtualBox and Windows even more...)

This post is mainly just a shoutout to identify anyone else out there who has also gone down this path ... if so, I may need to ask you questions once I get going with it.

Thanks in advance for any advice or replies.

I have all the same bits... but I use Garmin's ShotView app on my phone (Pixel 7 Pro running GrapheneOS), and I'm a somewhat infrequent user of GRT so I haven't pursued sticking it on my Linux desktop.

Probably not much help, but I'll be following along out of curiosity.

The way it seems everything is dependent on phone apps these days. I don't like it, but????

There is no Garmin app like what they have for a smartphone for a regular computer. Garmin has an Express app that operates on computers, but it's only for updating the software on their devises like the Xero C1.

You might try to find a really old smartphone that can be got for $20-30 and simply use it as a hand held computer??? Then you can have the Garmin app on it and download data onto your computer via Wi-Fi connection and don't have to have any cell phone service for it.

I use and generally like GRT. I'll caution you to measure your case capacities diligently. I think where the application shines is finding data for relatively obscure cartridges that may otherwise be castrated by modern load manuals. An example here is rounds like the 7x57 Mauser in a Ruger No.1, or 257 Roberts in a modern rifle of good quality.
