anyone using CFE 223 with 77gn for XTC

hello everyone,
can i get some help with the 77gn bullet and CFE 223 powder load
the manuals always show load suggestions for barrels longer than 20".
just started using this powder and loaded 77gn with 24.0gn of CFE223 and shot it at 300yards(prone/sling) but it had 4" vertical,

any suggestions??

In my very limited experince with CFE223, it tended to be 'spiky' pressure wise. One round would be fine, the next would flatten and crater primers. Same charge, same bullet, same lot of primers, same lot of brass. Only difference would be barrel temp. YMMV, of course.

Not for xtc but have been up to 26.7 grain for my bolt gun with 77smk. With Winchester brass I had a high node at 26.5 that was crazy accurate but way too close to the edge. Backed down to 25.7 and shot 8 or so firings before trashing the brass.

I’ve had great success with CFE and Hornady 75gr HPBTs at 27gr in a 5.56 chambered AR. Low teen SDs and 2,782 FPS from an 18” Daniel Defense barrel. Lake city brass. Not sure about the temp sensitivity but Eastern NC weather hasn’t made it unusable yet.
