Anyone Used "Sin Arms"?

I don't have experience with his work. However, when I used to visit savage shooters site, it seems he used to be fairly active and well regarded over there, sinman iirc.

What type of work do you need done?

Chambering primarily, plus threading and crowning.

Devin Sinner, the owner, provides Brux Savage pre-fit barrels. Devin Sinner, the owner, does the chambering, plus the threading and crowning I presume. I wanted to see what people thought of his work. I asked about reamers for light bullets and he said he had a PT&G one that shoots up to 87 grain quite well. It was a PT&G but he had little info on it until he called PT&G who told him it was a .272 neck and .049" freebore. He had no print. It surprised me he did not have this, but I am not a gunsmith.

Sin Arms also interested me because he offers Howa pre-fit Brux barrels with a barrel nut. I have a Howa action I want to build on. But, this may be a moot point because more than likely I will need to send the action to a smith anyway, given the reputation Howas have for impossible-to-remove factory barrels. I have a lathe and could cut a groove in the barrel about .015 ahead of the action to help relieve barrel flange pressure against action face. Supposedly this helps the barrel unscrew, but if it doesn't work, then what?

Before I source barrels and work from Devin, just wanted an opinion on his work. It unnerves me his website has no e-mail or phone number...the latter only being foun through a Facebook presence.

I kinda helped settle something for him and he was true to his word so I guess I would be ok with him doing the work. Just get a finish date like anywhere else and hold him to it within reason. The guys at savage shooters have high regard for him so give him a try.

Stay away they don't meet their obligations. I ordered 2 barrels march 21st of this year paid 100% that day and was told 9 weeks wait. Has been 18&1/2 weeks now. I have talked to Devin two times and have been told that they would be sent out next week. Most of the time I can't get them to even answer the phone. Sent them a message on instant messaging today and told them I just want my money back.

same story/ only disgruntled reviews that I see
ditto. His work was highly regarded on Savage Shooters for a while, then went bad because of delays, lack of communication, etc. Maybe he had good reasons, maybe not. I stopped following that site and lost track of the story. I've recently seen him posting solicitations for work on various facebook groups.

Personally, I don't get a great vibe. Plenty of other smith's with just as good of a reputation, without the negative reviews.

I purchased a Brux from him a few years ago. Barrel is great, service and communication terrible. Recommend you check elsewhere.

Yep. He's had my bolts and barrel for a year and a half now. Should have been 2 months. Doesn't return calls or emails. He answers the phone in June this year and lied to me again...told me he sent it UPS. Total bs. Filed a complaint with the South Dakota Attorney General today.

I am so sorry that this has happened. Something is wrong and if you have to file a complaint with the batfe or your attorney general I urge you to do it. I am disgusted because in the earlier time he would turn stuff around fairly quickly. This totally sucks.

Probably got more work than he could handle. Happens to a lot of newer gunsmithing businesses. They do well to begin with, end up with more than they can handle, and its down hill from there. "Burn -Out" soon follows, as its not "big money" for the hours and overhead required, as many seem to think. Answering the phone and returning emails takes time, but it has to be done. I re-worked a .338 Edge he built. Barrel wasn't properly torqued, you could break it loose by hand, safety didn't work , the owner of the rifle couldn't get it to shoot and had waited 18 months for it. This was before he got into the re-fit business.

The ATF will tell you that it is a Civil matter. You will get no help from them. Your Attorney General will tell you the same. Been there. I was lucky to have a local PD follow up on my deal and the guy went to jail. I'm being paid $34.50 a month to pay for my $2000 loss. My Will provides for my Grandson to finishing collecting the balance.
