There are old postings with this powder. Does not seem to be much info on the Hodgon site. Want to use it in my .300 H & H with 180 grain bullets. Any input on it?

I used the 145 Speer SBT and worked up to 49 grs. In my 24" barrel I got 2992 ft/sec and with the same load only with the 145 Speer GS I got 2912 ft/sec. Both gave me .75 MOA.

Works great in my 257 Roberts with 120 Speer SPBT's. Wish I could find some more! I have a feeling 2 lbs won't last til things loosen up.

Tried it in a 6.5 with 140 grain Berger hybrids. Worked very well at cold temps up north. Took it to Arizona and I thought my scope was broken. Dial and nothing. Dial again and a massive jump. Repeat that over a couple times and you know it's a scope problem. Get back up here and try it in warmer temps. Nope, not the scope. Groups were like buck shot out of a shot gun. Gave up on it. I'm sure it does have an application it just did not work for me in that application.

I've used Hybrid 100V in 308 with 225 & 230 gr bullets ..It was in the Sierra manual.
But it was nothing special..and I moved on.
300 H&H with 180 gr bullets Hybrid 100V 65 grains is about max depending on bullet all copper or lead... drop 10% and work up for your rifle.

I want to try it in my 6.5-284. My guy at the gun shows says "how many different powders do you see?" pointing at the never-ending table with everything but H100V. "If you don't see i am not going to order it."

I bought some of the 100V several years ago to try in my .300 H&H which I wanted to use for an elk hunt. This is a pre-64 Model 70 so I had no intentions of running lightspeed loads. I did run the Nosler 180 gr. Partition which is/was a standard of excellence. I tested this load to yield a moderate 2980 fps. One shot, one elk at 278 lasered. I was just a pinch high so it took out the entire top of the heart. Like the first one I shot, he turned, wobbled and collapsed.

I did try some Berger 180 gr. Elite Hunter but I wasn't as enamored with the accuracy from my older rifle. Newer barrel, different load might be just the ticket!

Enjoy!

I also tested the 100V in my vintage 7x61 Super S&H with a Hornady 139 gr. BTSP. This is a 1:12" twist so the lighter bullet was required. This is a combination I intend to carry at some point.

:)

I have 10lbs give or take of it. Hasn't worked out for a "best" load yet so I haven't used it much other than testing so far.

I just tapped into a random 1lb canister I had laying around to use in a hunting load for my step dad and I’s 243. seems to be working well and producing good velocities with a 90 grain eldx. don’t have much else to say besides that.

76.5gr 100v 180 NosP 300wby
82.5gr 100v 250 tsx 375 ruger
My 2 rifle loads for my Maine Moose hunt
Unfortunately no bullwinkle but cows were strutting and posing during 2nd season bull season
