Anyone try the 95 gr V-Max in a 6.5x47 L

I was getting ready to do some loading and bought some 95gr V-Max's to try out. Just wondering if anyone has tried them and what kind of loads you were using. I would like to try some IMR4064 just because I have a shload of it around, but not quite sure where to start.

According to the burn-rate chart in VV manual, I would start at 33.5 and move up .3 of a grain per jump. The burn rate of IMR-4064 is between VV-N133 and VV-N540. I hope this helps. Bill

Yes that helps thanks a lot. I know the 4064 is right next door to Varget on the burn rate but I didn't have any load data for Varget either.

Glad to help, man. That 95 gr. V-Max should be pretty fast from that case. I have a custom 6 X 47 Shehane custom build which uses that same case necked down to 6mm. I am getting close to 3100 fps with 105 gr. Berger VLDs with a fairly mild load of VV-N560.,41.0 gr.) Bill

I would suspect 4064 is too slow. I ran out of case room with RL-15.

Sf340: how much RL15 are you using? I loaded some to try at 40gr and there seemed to be a bit of room left.
