Anyone try the 6mm 103 ELD-X's yet ?

I picked up 200 6mm 103 ELD-X's to give them a go in my 6XC. I shot a few loads with RL17 on old shot too many times Norma brass.. So far just about everyone I have seen shoot the ELD-X's in a few different calibers have struggled to get them to shoot well as far as tight grouping at 200 yards me included. So I set a few up on resized Lapua 6.5 creed brass formed to XC .010 off the rifling and it did not shoot too well at all. So I set up on some old Norma XC brass same results so I went to .040 off and that seemed to work better so the best was about 3 shot 1 1/4" group at 200 yards at 3,180 FPS pushed up 3,250 FPS around 2" at 200 yards.. So I plan to load up the 3,180 load and see what we can hit at farther distance and I suspect it to work just fine but I will play some at further off say .060 or maybe a bit more.. Then it will be time to see if they perform on game mainly whitetail and some coyote.

I have not been nearly as happy with the ELD-X line as I have been with the ELD-Ms. I don't know what it is about them other than maybe their bonding that just doesn't allow them to shoot as well. I have tried a number of them in 6.5 and .308 with less than desirable results. The ELD-Ms however, have all shot really well, much better than the ELD-X.

My experience is limited to .300 Win Mag and the ELDX...in my .300 the ELDX do not shoot as accurately as the ELDM.

Was trying loads with the X's in the 300wsm hoping for the 208 A-Max performance...Did not pan out.......Guess i will give a box of the M's a shot.

Yeah, I have tried the 220 ELD-X in a few different .300WM rifles and best I could do was about .75-.8 MOA. Switch to a 210 Berger and things shoot much better down to half MOA or less.

well I was able to get out and do some rock shooting across the hill. 6mm 103 ELD-x 3,180 FPS 1-8 twist 6XC.
It did very well I missed a few times high over top just figuring out the drop But I was impressed I hit at 500,650, and 825 with no problem. So I will stick with that as my hunting load I am quite sure I will be able to hit them out to 1K if I need to. But yea the 200 yards accuracy has not been as good as like the burger's but at distance we have been able to hit well with them. It seems they need a lot of jump and are very sensitive to seating depth or Hornady sold us culls...because I have seen the precision hunter factory ammo in 280 rem and in 6.5 creed shoot around 3/4" groups at 200 yards and a friend shot the 6.5 creed factory's in the field and hit everything I did..so I think they may need to be .060 to .090 off ? maybe...but anyway I am shooting them this season the 145 in my 270 and the 103 in my 6XC.

I have a ladder test loaded up for my standard chambered .243 ,, from 41 to 44gr of RL22 if I recall correctly.
.
Gotta go shoot my 50 this weekend, but will test the 103 ELD's when I get back.
I was hoping to see some good results, for the price.

well just Dave if it's a standard 243 and a 1-10 twist I do not think you will have much luck with them as they are a 1-8 twist buller. but please let us know.
