Anyone try AA2520 for 6 BR

I used to use this powder some. It was pretty popular in Highpower. Anyone try it for 6BR?

I think it'd work OK (I'm working thru an 8-pounder I bought at Perry in 2004 to use in a 6.5 Grendel; sold all that stuff so the 2520's going into 30-06 for my service grade SA M-1) but fell out of general favor due to the rather wide variations from lot to lot years ago.

Meters well, seems to burn clean yet more recently developed products get the attention, probably for good reasons.

I have a new Krieger barrel that is driving me nutz with 105's; can't find the right load. Checking burn chart, 2520 is just a little faster than RL15, which does not work in this barrel. I loaded just five with 29.5 grs, gonna try them at the range tomorrow. It does meter very well. Small diameter ball powder granules.

Tenring,

What twist and barrel length do you have?

What chamber do you have?

Try old faithful load of 30.0 - 30.4 Varget, and Fed 205M. If your barrel can't print well under under 1/2" MOA, you've got problems.

Let us know how it goes.

6mmBR, .269 Neck, Krieger. It shoots under .5 at 100, but that won't win any wood. The AA2520 did not shoot beter than Varget and H4895. I just switched scopes, took off an old NF 12-42 and replaced with a new one. If at first you don't succeed, try. . . . .

tenring,

If you haven't already done so, I would add CCI-450 to the mix. Has helped in every variant of the 6BR that I own. Good luck. :)
