With a 1-8" twist a BR case will not only stabilize the heavies, it will launch them pretty well. My only question is 'do you intend to put this in an AR? The -15 platform has shown to be a bit weak when pushing BR cases. Which would leave the -10 (.308) platform.I just built a 25-06 ackly and now i’m loving the 134 eldm and 135 vld and wondering has anyone shot them from a BR? I have lots of 6 br brass and was thinking of maybe a little 25 hog/deer rifle. Thanks!
I was thinking more like a Howa mini bolt action. I built a 6 br on one a few years back and it’s been excellent. And maybe a 7 twist for those heavies on the 25’s.With a 1-8" twist a BR case will not only stabilize the heavies, it will launch them pretty well. IMO, a lightweight rifle (light but highly accurized) would be a lot of fun, and competitive in .25 cal. with heavies
I took a white tail doe with the 25-06 AI with a 134 ELDM. It was devastating. She was quartering away. I could put my fist through the entry wound. Destroyed the liver. Made a tiny exit through the spine. I lost very little upper neck meat. I want to see what it does on a Muley buck next.I think a Howa mini would be a neat light rifle for hunting with the BR case.
Also thinking a BRA could be formed from your BR brass and help a little more velocity wise if you are going to be running a shortish barrel.Wondering my self what case and barrel length it would take to push that class of bullet to 2850-2900 FPS. I have been pondering a 25x47 for a heavy 600 yard comp gun myself.
Love the 25s for killing deer and this new 134 ELD-M has quite the b.c. for this caliber.
