I was in the process of building a 6.5 Creedmore and saw that Nosler has a 142 gr. with a .719 BC. Is it me or that does that sound a little high and has anyone shot them and/or can verify that BC?
Thank you
Thank you
IMO... I think those bullets will be a much better and accurate choice. Once you get the correct BC figured out for the ABLR, you'll be ok but it's definitely lower than the eld line up. The 6.5 has such superior BCs compared to the mid weight 30s and are a pleasure to shoot. I'd say any bullet makers vld style bullet is a good choice.MattPeetz- I saw the BC on Nosler's web site. It seems high to me.
284winner- I shoot the ELDs most of the time in my 300 and I am very happy with them and the price is god too. I have had good luck with Hornady's post BCs on the ELD and ELDX line. JMO
How do they shoot accuracy wise ? Some guys have said that they aren't impressed with the accuracy of the LRAB bullets. In my 264 WM, I've figured it around .620 or so. I also use them in a 6.5x55 SE Swede but haven't played with it out at any distances yet. As far as on-game performance, I've taken an axis doe with the Swede at 109 yards and a 5x5 bull elk @ 140 yards. The elk took two shots to stay down - first through the rear of the shoulder and the second through the ham (nicked a twig right next to him), through the pelvis and lodged in the off shoulder. Retained weight of that one was 59.9 gr.
Other than those two, I've only shot paper and steel.
Not bad for a sporter barrel gun. Sounds like they work in that rifle.Trying to upload a picture. Took it out yesterday and put 3 shots into a .4" group @ 100. Mine has the sporter barrel so I can, at best, get 3 shots before the heating of the barrel works against me.
I've taken it out to 450 with 5-shot groups shooting sub-4" groups.
