A gentleman at the range today asked me if I would like his once-fired 9mm brass. "Sure!", I said. But...never having seen a headstamp marked "MXT", I did a bit of research and found that it was likely manufactured by MaxxTech, a Croatian ammo manufacturer. I also found that (and this was touched-upon in an earlier thread) that the MaxxTech brass commonly has what's described as a "step" or "shelf" within the interior wall of the brass (designed to be a bullet seating stop), making it very questionable for reloading.
So, the brass that I was given today does not have that feature on the inside wall of the case. It's perfectly straight. Do any members have experience with this brass. Is it safe to reload and shoot? Any primer pocket issues? Thanks for any thoughts on this.
