Anyone noticed VMax bullets with an exposed seam in the plastic tip when HBN coating?

I was puzzled by the 50 gr VMax plastic tips having exposed vertical seams that ranged from wide to narrow or nonexistent after doing HBN coating. I called Hornady to inquire about the stainless BBs possibly causing this problem. He agreed that it could have been the cause. He also assured me that accuracy would not be affected out to my max of 325 yds.

Anyone else noticed this issue with their VMax bullets after the HBN coating process?
