I want to make a seater for a 7mm Shehane, and since I do barrels have a ready supply of "die blanks" I have 1 or 2 dies made from blanks, but the hole and stem already done, so what clearance is proper for the stem to hole in the top. I was thinking .0001" to .00015"
Is this a reamed fit with chucking reamer or circle boring bar, and light passes?
I measured my stem and it is .2854" and just went ahead and ordered a .2855" chucking reamer. hope I didn`t mess up.
Easier, is not what motivates some of us.You can buy blanks from wilson. May be easier than trying to fit the stem
Butch, I would be interested in the model number of the micro head.I build my own, but do it a little differently. I do make mine from a piece of barrel. I ream it with my chambering reamer. I make a floating piece to engage the ogive of the bullet. I install a small Mitutoyo micrometer spindle to set bullet depth. I'll take time later today to photo it and post the photos.

Thanks Butch!Wayne,
The Mitutoyo number is 148-352
