Anyone loading for 6mm grendel/6mmAR/243LBC/6mm Predator?

Does anyone here load for the 6mm Grendel (or whatever variant you call it)? I'm hoping to use a 107 smk if possible, but my 2nd choice (probably a superior choice, but more expensive) is the 105 hybrid.

Anyone have any good starting loads for the 107 in this cartridge? Any tips/tricks learned along the way that would help cut down rounds fired in development?

Thanks

8208 is THE powder for 6AR. 105 class bullets work but 95s will work a to 600-800 yards and are better overall. Past that the 105s come in to play but you give up some velocity.

Pretty much run 8208 in my AR and H4895 in my bolt rifle with 95SMK's, actually have better luck with the 95SMK over the 105 Bergers but I've yet to get them past 500 meters. Of all the calibers I have this little guy always puts a smile on my face, it'll throw the 105-107's but it seems happier with the 95's.

I have the 243 LBC Turbo 40. It has the 40 degree shoulder that is blown out and forward on the body. Same difference as what the 6 Dasher is to the 6 BR.

The 'slower' varmint powders seem to work best with the 105gr weight bullets. Powders like RL-15, IMR 8208 XBR, Hodgdon BLC-2, CFE-223, and Varget seem to work well.

Dont want to share exact load data I use as my case has more capacity than the standard 243 LBC or 6mmAR, but my loads are well under 30gr with the above powders so recoil is nice. Very fast little round for its size.

My 8 Twist 6mmAR prefers the lighter bullets for some reason. The 75 grain V-Max is accurate as can be out of it so that's what I shoot.....Be careful with the heavies.....Make sure your twist is right....another problem with the heavier bullets in a small case is that they eat up case capacity and are limited to magazine length too.

I have used H4895, RL15, H335, 8208XBR during load development and can honestly say that any of them would work very well in the 6AR. You should have no problem finding an accurate load!

This is why I built my 243 LBC T40 on a bolt rifle with enough freebore for 105 Berger Hybrid bearing surface to be seated above the neck shoulder junction. Maintains case capacity with heavy bullets and avoids donut issues.

I'm using 6mm FatRat in a AR solely as a repeater. It's got the reamer with freebore set for mag feeding. Had the best luck with 95SMK at 2870 fps in a 22". My barrel didn't shoot the 105 hybrids well.
