Anyone Know the F Class front Bag Ear hught rules.

Hi I have been thinking about getting a new front bag for my front rest. I shoot F Class.
does anyone know how tall the rules says I can go on the bag ears. and sideboards on my rifle can be?

No rules on height.
Just must be able to lift the rifle freely without pulling on the rest.

Some people are concerned the 3" by 3" contact area might apply to the sides but if it did almost everybody's bag would be illegal.

As kzin stated, there is currently no restriction of height. The bag can't be wider than 2.99 inch, side to side and front to back. The rule was modified this year to include this snippet for F-Open only. It is not in the rules for F-TR.


(8) The contents of front and rear bags will be dry, finely divided (less than 5mm/0.19”) granular substance such as, but not limited to, sand, gravel or grain, packed loosely enough so that the bag will be visibly deformable by pressure of the range officer’s fingers..
