Anyone here shooting a 6.5-300WSM?

I have one and love it,I'm curious what speeds you guys are getting and what powders you see the best combo of speed and accuracy from.I'm shooting 142MK's,W-W cases,215M primers
and N-170powder in mine. Going for a 1000yd pd this summer

6.5 x 300 WBy. Hmmmm, I had one quite a number of years ago and had it in Wyoming shooting antelope. It is a great round for antelope hunting, but use it very sparingly on p-dogs out west. It is a barrel smoker!! Better take along something to shoot on a consistent basis and save the 6.5 x 300 for your long range work. By the way, the antelope that I got with the 6.5 was about 750 yards away and it went down like smacking a fly with a Webster dictionary. Have fun but save that barrel unless you are anticipating on changing it over this fall.

17VLD, if you go to shortmags.com there is a Canadian contributer whose user name is catinthehat..cat has developed a 6.5 round he calls the 6.5 badcat. Cat is a match shooter and has done some great stuff with this round. Check it out for more info.

I'm going to neck down a 7SAUM to 6.5 and would also like to see some velocity numbers for 139s. I see many posts on shortmags.org regarding the 6.5s but no one really discusses velocity.

I have a 6.5x270 wsm and have uesd it in a long range match at coalinga ca, we shoot at 600,800,900 and a 1000 yds, droped one point with it. I was shooting 142 smk moly with imr 7828, 3270 fps. I have put over 400 rds through it and it still shoots well. Kick a lot more than a 6.5x284.
