Anyone having extraction problems with they're 6.5 PRC

The problem isn't the die sizeing down enough ,it's the chamber . There is a new reamer out, the AW2 .
I was making numerous derogatory comments about Nosler brass being to soft .I did the work on my chamber ,problem is fixed. Nothing wrong with Nosler brass . All brass chambers and extracts like hot butter

A design flaw in the cartridge, After 2-3x firings, we get clickers, the base of case .200 above web doesn't size down enough for smooth extraction. The sizing die was blamed, but no, it's a chamber problem. So I rented an AW2 6.5 PRC reamer from a shooter on the Long-Range Only forum. I did the work and fired the ammo yesterday that gave me problems. Problem fixed 100%

Well I wouldn’t go so far as to say there’s “nothing” wrong with Nosler brass ;) It still has crappy soft primer pockets like any other cheap brass so if you push pressures they won’t last long.

ADG or Lapua is the only way to go if you want good quality and longevity while testing a cartridge to its full speed capabilities.

But no matter what brass is used, you will have clicker problems if you don’t open up the chamber. The Hornady SAAMI chamber spec designs for the 6.5 and 300 PRC are way too tight.

Yea, super tight body dimensions on reamers are a known issue and I’ve read about some 6.5 prc shooters having that issue.
The good smiths spec their own reamers for just that reason.
I have a 7 saum reamer that’s a bit too tight.
Now I know better and open up the body near the base a bit.

There was lots of conversation on this in the long range hunting forums . Great to hear this was a fix ! Correct the AW2 print is +2 at the .200 line vs Saami spec . I believe .535 vs .533 at .200 .

I have a 6.5 PRC browning X bolt Max LR and have not had any issues on fifth loading with Hornady brass. So guess its not all chambers.

This was the consensus, as some were having issues and others not , my understanding was that folks with “ large “ chambers didn’t as die’s would function ,or provide some sizing . I couldn’t get sizing at .200 with my dies and chamber , so ordered the AW2 . Alex fixed the chamber , and not the die as some had tried small base versions to no avail. As explained in some of the long range hunting forums , if you are on the “small “ side of chamber spec no die will function as your trying to size smaller than the case head and the case head will win this battle .
I’ve spoken with reputable people who speced small base reamers for 300WSM and ran into the same problems, they had tried custom 7/8 dies which usually resulted in die breaking .

Thanks. I run mine through the sizer die 2-3 times rotating 1/3 of a turn on each sizing. It chambers easily if sized to 0.531 or smaller.
