Anyone gone Iguana hunting in Puerto Rico?

Our tickets are booked and we will be going down for a family vacation next month. There are a couple different outfits that offer hunting for iguanas with air rifles so I'm looking for feedback from anyone that has done it and who you used. I need to get it booked soon. My kids are pretty serious about tagging along and I think it would be a cool first hunting trip for them.

hehe! we did it in costa rica w/ some local kids w/ sling shots and machetes.
the one kids mom cooked them up for us.

They do it in florida on the canals. Blow gun darks rigged up like a bowfishing bow. I watched youtube videos the other day.

Do you have a taxidermist in Idaho? I want to see the look on his face when you bring him the lizard.

I don't know how old the kids are you are taking, but I can see how it would probably be a lot of fun for them. Don't look for too much excitement though....I go on a lot of dive trips and they are all over the Caribbean. It seems like you could hunt them with a fork if you wanted to. In Belize and Mexico there are a lot of Coati Mundi's. I know it's a dream, but I would love to take my two coon dogs down there and see how that goes.

I'm not thinking I'll bring any of it/them home so the taxidermist is safe. My boys are 6 and 7. I just want to do a high volume shoot on a pest and hopefully my kids will have a blast. I'm not a beach person but I compromise with my wife if I get to shoot stuff. Last year I went axis deer hunting for a couple days on Lanai while the wife and kids stayed on Maui. It was pretty fun and a totally different experience compared to hunting everywhere else I've hunted. Africa was probably the closest. 80 degrees and humid as heck is not the hunting I'm use to.

go! see the arenal volcano, it erupted when i was there , very cool--those lizards as big as small gators--3 ft!! we shot grouper and mahi the locals cooked--great trip

We went on a trip to the Virgin Islands a few years ago, they are everywhere there. Pretty good sized lizards.

Bludgeoning those reptiles with a Louisville Slugger would seem to be good for relieving stress. Just sayin'.

don't need to go to PR, just out my back door, here on a canal in S. FLA. i have eliminated many. there are a real pest here
