Anyone ever use Lapua 185 gr Scenars?

Does anyone have any experience with these bullets? I got some to play with in my 300 RSAUM and 300 WM. They are a bit shorter than the 190 SMK and slightly sleeker looking than 175 SMKs. I think I know the answer, but why is there not much talk about these bullets? They are very concentric bullets!

Im interested to try these in my 30 BR,fast twist)so if anyone has any thought I would love to hear them too.

Thanks

my 300 SAUM shoots the 155 sceaners better than anything else I have tried very hich BC and the recoil is a lot less pick up a box of them and give them a try:thumb:

I shot them out of a .308Win. in front of a lot of RL-15, very accurate: 1 inch group at 400y! The surprise for me was that I got better velocity with 190MK + the accuracy.

I shot these in a .308, at roughly 800m/s. Excellent precision, but the pressure was a tad to high for my brass. At lower speeds it did not perform as well. For long range shooting it was good, but I found it needed more speed than my rifle could safely provide.

I shoot the 185 Scenars in my 308. I found an accuracy node on the low pressure side at about 2500fps from a 26" Broughton 5C barrel. From a bipod, I routinely get sub .5moa groups.

I was not able to find a good high pressure accuracy node and started getting pressure signs at about 2700fps with Varget. You may do better with a powder that is just a little slower than Varget.

These should be excellent in a 300 WM / WSM. At the volocity I load them to, they are not a viable 1,000 yard round.

I have been shooting the 185 sencars for some years now out of my 300 Win Mag Heavy Gun.

I have had a lot of success with them and have found them to be very consistant right out of the box.

Being in Australia I use them at 500 metre Fly shoots and 1000 yds IBS matches and have managed a few victories.

They perform for me in a Maddco 1-10 twist using a load of 75 grns AR2213SC,H4831SC in the USA)in Laupua brass with a Fed 215M primer.

Would recommend them as at the very least worth the price of a box for testing.

cheers
