Anyone do any firearm resto?

Mainly pitting on a colt 1911 frame. My thought would be to weld up machine and blue. PM me if you do this kind of work.

There is a few deep pits in a couple areas that are not in an area of importance. It would only be a few spot welds.
 
Don't worry about the frame strength. Plastic frames seem to be strong enough. TIG is the appropriate process. However, the welds will show under hot blue in my experience. In my limited experimentation, I never found a rod that gave an invisible weld. Rust bluing will usually cover a weld and it will be difficult to see.

We found my brother's(RIP) pistol in the back of his truck. Had to use a hammer to rack the slide back. I tore it down and cleaned up all the parts, used duracoat durafil to level up all the pits on the slide and frame. Then a cover coat of dark grey and some new grips and it looks pretty good. Didn't know if you would want to paint a blued gun or not
