Anyone deal with Burris with their "Forever Warranty" recently?

They have deemed my Signature 1.5 x 6 scope as unrepairable. They don't make this scope anymore and they don't make anything comparable. They offered me a credit to use on any scope they currently manufacture but nothing is remotely similar. If I picked a scope over the amount of their credit, I could pay the difference to "upgrade." Even if there was something comparable, the prices on their website bear no relation to selling prices from multiple suppliers. Being they can't fix my original scope, which was their top of the line series when I bought it, and don't offer anything comparable plus the fact the website prices are non-realistic, I told them to please send me a check in the amount of the credit they offered. Aside from that, they haven't answered me in 12 days.

if you text me 2nite i will look---i think i have one of those

I Gave up with Burris. the last scope I sent them, I got no call and sent me a replacement. The new scope had a different Reticle and no Target turrets. When I called them about it, The only answer was basically 'You can take it or Leave it'.
Most of their scopes have "target" or "Long range" reticules. I just want a crosshair.

I dealt with them a few years ago when they also could not fix my 1.5-6X Signature scope. I had to be firm and persistent with them. They finally let me select a replacement scope probably worth more than what my Signature scope was worth. It took a while and a few phone calls but things worked out okay.

In the case of mine, part of the crosshair retical broke loose. My 1.5-6X Signature was an older model with a 26mm objective lens. It was a very reliable scope for many years. I also have a newer 1.5-6X Signature with a much larger objective lens. No problems with it.

I had a few conversations with "John" at Burris a number of years ago. He had what I would call a terrible attitude and was a smart ass. I spoke with a Burrris retailer, he said he had the same experience. I sent a letter to the president of the company, I didn't receive a response. I use Leupolds now. A friend broke a Leupold, he told them the damage was not a problem caused by the product, it was totally his fault. It was an older scope, repair was not possible, Leupold sent him a new scope as a replacement, no charge. As I said I use Leupold.

I know this is an old thread, but I am considering the purchase of a used Burris gloss finished 2-7 fullfield scope. It looks like I can realisticly forget about warranty. I too am sticking with Leupold.

I recently sent one in and got the same "Not Repairable", but they did send me an exact replacement. Other than not much communication and very slow responses, they did stand behind it. IIRC all in all it took a bout 6-8 weeks.

I bought a Black Diamond 8x32 from ehell it didn't work well, so I sent it to Burris they give me 800 credit. bought a 5x25 sig HD sold it on here a few weeks ago...you will only get what they are making or they give you a list with a price point lineup...they ship fast..the Black Diamond was almost mint condition looked great but the ocular and the side focus were frozen from setting for yrs

Had a rattle in an older Leupold. Cross Hair came loose. Sent in for repair. Got it back with a different cross hair. :(
Mounted it up and before too long, the same thing happened?
Sent it back AGAIN and this time it got the proper cross hair.
Was told by Leupold that "that scope" wasn't made to me mounted on my Ruger 10/22???
Funny that BIG recoil was no problem but the 10/22 was a scope breaker??:(

Burris goes off their MSRP pricing and not "market". I had similar issues with them on 2 scopes I had. 1 was a Signature 6x24x44 daylight/twilight with fine plex the other was a Blk Dia. 6x24x50 they both quit tracking. their answer was we'll send you a fullfield for the Signature and on the Blk Dia. it was send us $800 and we'll upgrade you. It was a NO on both counts for me. I do still have a few of their scopes and they work fine but if they quit I'm not even going to call them (not for my time or EFFORT....I'll never buy a Burris again.

I would take the time to type my Burris story, but I am busy, so I will post a link.

Short version, their service and warranty suck.

In 2022 my Black Diamond would not track, sent it black. Burris said it was unrepairable, they would send me a replacement. Asked about the model, is was a good scope but FFP.
Told them a FFP would not work for me. I picked out a SFP scope that was discontinued, they said they still had a few and sent me one.

Better glass than the Black Diamond, took 2-3 weeks and I had to buy a set of 34mm rings, I’m pleased.

Hazards of a "lifetime" warranty, all they have to do is change/discontinue models and you are done with replacements not too far down the road. And then it is up to them what they give you as a replacement, if they have one, and will often down grade it on the replacement, depending on the company.

The only thing I use with the Burris name is the Signature Rings and inserts. I hope other companies pick up on these when the Burris patent runs out. I've had very good luck with them. I installed an old B & L scope without internal adjustments using the rings and a shim for elevation and the rear base screws for windage. Worked well and looked good also.

I just had my Burris XTR II FFP scope get nuked after putting it on my 338 Lapua. The recoil totally busted it after shot 20. Parallax doesn't focus unless its 5 feet or closer. Reticle is gone. Zoom is broken. Can't get the zoom down below (x8) power.

Why would I take this over $1000 scope hunting, if it breaks from RECOIL? Imagine if I had dropped it, or put into my truck roughly. I will never buy another Burris scope again.

Burris should be embarrassed that they charge $1000 for scopes that break under recoil.

I sent a N.I.B. 6X AO. Compact back to them for parallax issues before ever mounting it.

Long story short.....after three trips back, it came back 'fixed' again. But none of the little seals I'd put on it to indicate disassembly had been disturbed and the w/e turrets were in the same exact spot that I had purposely left them in.

Following that decacle (trip #3), I ended up talking with an engineer there and asked him about the reticle cell. He told me that on that model, the vertical line was on one lens and the horizontal line was on another. Then the cell was mounted with both lenses fitted together. When I told him he had just explained why I couldn't clear the parallax in both the vertical and horizontal at the same time, it got real quiet on his end. "Son of a ...." he finally said softly. He told me to send it to his attention.

That was the last I ever saw of it. Despite repeated calls to anyone that would listen, it simply disappeared in the sucking vortex known as Burrisdom. And I was out a scope. It's probably propping open a door at the Burris lunch room.

Like Forrest Gump...that's all I have to say about that. -Al
