Anybody Run&Gun Crows?

First I'll start by saying I have a FX3 with every crow sound FoxPro & Bob Arnson have for it... However, I've got an old 10lb Johnny Stewert cassett caller with 4 crow tapes that trumps anything that they have. The Johnny Stewert sounds just plain work better. It is a little bit louder too, but the sounds are just that much better.

Does anybody know were I can get any JS cassett sounds on MP3? I can't find them anywhere... Does anybody have anything as good? Know where I can purchase them? My cassetts have took a beating over the years & have bad sections during the run. If I could get them on the FP, moving around would be much better.

Your PC probably has a sound card with a microphone jack, just get a male/male 1/8" phono cable, hook your tape player into the microphone jack and record the tape in mp3 on your computer.

Windows has sound recorder software in it, and it works ok, but you can find lots of sound recorder software that works much better free on the web. Once you learn how to do it you'll wind up converting all your favorite tapes to mp3 and burning them onto CD's right on you PC.

I have had exactly the same experience, used to do a lot of crow calling with my JS cassette player and had much better results than with the new FX3. I contribute it to two things, one is it is a digital signal which means the sound is regenerated from a digital signal, the old tape is an analog signal,Sounds better) A lot of audio files, myself included, think the analog music gives a sense of presence you don't get with digital. 2nd is the very short sound bites, it replays the same sounds every 20 sec or so.
