Anybody hand loading for a DSA FAL?

Looking to start loading for 1 of these rifles, I have a bunch of TAC and 147gn and 150gn pills, but I have other powders, just want to see what might work well in this old horse design!

Look at load data for a Springfield M1A, something similar would be a possible place to start. My FAL in .223 had an adjustable gas system which allowed some tweaking based on load/pressure, not sure if the DSA is similar or not.

Just my .02

The 7.62x51 NATO M80 Ball ammo with 147 - 150 grain was roughly 2809 fps
The later 175 grain ammo was roughly 2600 fps.

Depending on your bbl length and rig, I would find samples of FGMM ammo to try and see what factory ammo you like, then clone it.

The H4895 powder is very hard to get these days and recent email says to expect some of it to show up in limited amounts, but unless you are into playing that game I wouldn't count on it.

It was not hard to work around this shortage and not difficult to get a typical service rifle load to work with many other powders.
