The 2000b is the standalone monocular rangefinder, follow on to the very popular 1600b model. Both these units are very similar with the newer 2000b ranging out a bit further to 2000 yards.
My only personal experience has been with the 1600b. I've had one for several years and it has been very reliable and accurate. Consistently has worked on cows and deer out to 800 when handheld so long as aim was steadied by leaning against something. Trees and terrain can usually be reliably measured out to 1300. Beyond that, it gets a little trickier but I have ranged objects out to beyond 1600 on occasions. Unit has also been very reliable when ranging steel. Like I said, this is all with the 1600b.

Thank you I’m also concerned about the up hill and down hill calculations on the rangefinder do you have any experience with that

I have used a 2000 b upgraded from a 1200 about two years ago. Very reliable. Have ranged elk to 1100, trees, rocks past 2000. Leica keeps getting better with every new model. The 2800 b looks very promising for ballistics.

I don't know about the Leicas, but half or better of the Sigs I saw wouldn't range past 1000. Matt

The 2400 is a different animal, at least in my experience. Assembly is in Oregon. I have gotten many readings over 2000 yds with mine. On board AB ballistics is amazing for long range coyote hunting. Going on 3 yrs and still going strong. I have heard of many problems with the lower end models. Just my personal experience. :D:D

The new Leica 2800 is a spendy little unit. Im seriously thinking about getting one to match my new Leica Noctivid binoculars. Lot of features I like packed in the new unit, especially the bluetooth app capability. Leica makes a very reliable LRF and the view thru the German HD glass is second to none.

I always wonder about tech stuff.... I know it's blue tooth and it talks to my Kestrel and that talks to my phone but sometimes I think there can be too much tech and/or interference. I have my COS indicator on my scope (if shooting up/down hill), I range with my Leica then then punch it in my Kestrel. Done. I'm not very smart so I try to keep things simple.

I have 2 Leupold range finders a 750 and a 1000. Last year I got a chance to try a Leica.
The Leica was far superior to either of my Leupold range finders.

I agree. The Leupold LRFs are getting better, but still a longshot from the quality of Leica. Especially in the glass department.

I bought my brother in law a 1200 yd Leupold LRF for his birthday a few years back and its actually a pretty good little unit for the money. Pretty fast return time and a decent reticle. Some of their older LRFs were horribly slow. Had to prop yourself up against something, lock your muscles and hold your breath so you didn't move while waiting for a return. Lol
