Any one know what an EMPTY 8lb jug of Reloaded wieghs?

As stated want to know what the jug itself wieghs so can make better guess on how much powder is in it.
the 1lb can wieghs right about .2lb.

1lb jugs of Reloder and Hodgdon are greatly different in size; I think I could fit 2lbs of RL-23 or 16 in a 1lb container. The 8lb containers for RL felt heavier than H 8lb containers. I may still have an empty in the trash I can weigh tomorrow.

If you are concerned about the amount of powder you are getting, the powder is is packaged by weight, not volume. Though a one pound box of Cheerios contains one pound of Cheerios, it doesn't look like it when you open the package. You might end up with a few grains less/more. Dump your powder on a piece of plastic food wrap and weigh it.

Edit: The weight of the container means nothing. I doubt any two of them are exactly the same weight. The container is marked net weight. That is the weight of the contents, not including the weight of the container. Gross weight less tare weight = net weight.

OP...since there are many sizes and styles of "jugs",,,,why dont you pour your powder into a clean recepticle and weigh you own "jug".....please let us know what it weighs,???....Roger

I have two empty 8lb. IMR jugs. They definitely came from two different molds per the bottom shapes and marking. Same screw on covers. They each weigh the same at 3.2 ounces or .2 lbs. My wife likes to store bulk stuff like rice, flour, sugar and oatmeal in them..........kidding.

Easy math if you know the weight of a full jug.
7000 gr per lb x 8= 56,000 gr. Convert to grams. 455 grams to a lb, 3740 to 8 lb
