I can see it all now ...
A age 87, and after long, good life, Doug abruptly passed leaving a huge estate of reloading equipment and supplies. Six month later his son ("S") and grandson ("GS"), who have been handling the estate, finally got to the reloading room, which was filled wall-to-wall, and floor-to-ceiling with stuff.
S: "I've been putting this off because I knew it was gonna be a bummer getting through it all.
G S: "What did he do will it all?"
S: "Through the years, he hunted and competed in various firearm-related sports. Let's see, there was skeet, trap, handgun, varmint hunting, and others like precision rifle, long distance, and benchrest shooting.
G. S: "Does it take this much stuff to do them?"
S: "Not for each one individually, no."
GS: "Then why didn't he just sell the stuff he didn't use anymore, instead of hanging onto it?"
S: "I asked him that once."
GS: "Yeah? What'd he say?"
S: "Kind of vague like ... 'I don't know. I might get back into that someday. Or worse, need it for something else, and not have it.' "
GS: "Hmmmm ... " Looking into a box with 5-6 portable electronic scales, three of which were the same and brand new. "Why are half of these the same exact scale?"
S: "He'd buy stuff like that when it went on sale."
GS: "Even though he already had a couple?"
S: "Yep."
GS: Exasperated, "Dad. I'm just not getting it!"
S: "Nothing to get ... he ALWAYS bought more reloading equipment and components every chance he got, even though he already had a lifetime supply."
GS: "Okay, I'll bite. Why?"
S: "Because it was on Sale."
GS: Shaking his head and muttering under his breath ... "Christ save us ..."
S: "What's that Son?
GS: "Nothing Dad. I'll grab some boxes out of the truck, and we'll get to it."
S: "Yep. Gonna be a looong day ... "
Sound familiar?
