Any issue with a 1.45 Barrel Shank in a 1 9/16" Spindle?

My PM 1340GT has a 1 9/16" spindle bore and I chamber through the headstock. I just ordered a barrel with a 1.45 x 6" shank. In theory it will fit with .055" each side. Should I take the shank size down to 1.4 or 1.35?

Me, personally, I don't think it would hurt a thing to clean up that shank and make it perfectly round.
my two cents.

I use a Hardinge lathe to chamber barrels. It has a 1.250 bore where the collet seats. I buy 1.245 straight barrels and have no problem indicating them in.

Benchmark will be turning it from 1.5" stock so it ought to be straight. If not I guess it wouldn't be a big deal to turn a little more off it

We will have "something" left, Stan,,,,,,, they're called 'chips'! Or, less space in the scrap bin and more in the shop.
You hit the nail on the head on that one LOL
Here is about 8 months worth of chips off the CNC turning center.
