Any FFL's out here ???

I know this may be a little off topic but...

As I applied for my first FFL, I can't seem to find enough information on the "yellow paper sign" that MUST hang on the wall of the sales room. Are there any other warnings or notices that must hang there as well ?

Any help will be appreciated,

Thanks Mike, I've been at the BATFE web site all day and still can't find referance to a notice to be posted on yellow paper.

Could you elaborate ?

Thanks

I've had a FFL for over 25 years and don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Our records were audited by the BATF a short while ago and the agent did not mention anything being wrong.

Have you ever seen this in a gun store?

Pull out your Federal Firearms Regulation Reference Guide that came with your license or maybe before you license came.

Reference 923h and Subpart F Conduct of Business 478.91, this is one paragraph.

If your talking about a gun show - Reference 478.100a - which in short tells you to comply with 478.91,above)

Next - Pull out the ATF - State Laws and Published Ordinances - Firearms book - They just sent out a new one 27th Edition.
You'll have to look at anything special your state may require, HOWEVER - make sure you comply with 478.91 above.

Warnings and notices ? Your choice - seen warnings about purchasing a firearm for some else, but that's about all...

Last, don't shy away from talking to your local BATF, they are there to help and answer questions. During an audit is not a good time to clarify or request information.

One more piece of friendly advise. I repeat - Contact Your BATF office if you have a question, get your manuals out and start reading. Getting information on a forum may be bad information, meaning if someone else is doing something - that does not make it the law.
Also - try to find your answer before calling. If you call a BATF agent and tell them you read paragraph xxxx and page xxx and have a question, - they like to know you at least tried to find the answer before you called.

Thank you CoyoteV and Chuck, I hear you.
And I got what I wanted. I have been and will continue to be all about 27 CRF Part 478 Commerce in Firearms. It's not hard to do. It's just like reading the Electrical Code book.

This started with the FFl kit I purchased to get the ball rolling. The editor of the kit made all kinds of good suggestions and one yellow paper sign comment that I couldn't verify anywhere.

Thanks for your input. Now I know what to ignore.
And I will keep my license posted.:)
