Any 50bmg shooters, 750 amax OAL?

Hi guys, I have an old school MCMillan M88 single shot that has been sitting in the back of my safe for years. Finally going to shoot the thing again and looking to run 750 amax with about 214 grns of H50bmg. Using Hornadys OAL length gauge I’m getting around 5.844 to 5.824... I don’t have the tool to measure off the ogive so that might be part of the measurement. Does this seem a tad long? My Hornady manual states max overall as 5.450. What would you load to for length? Thanks for any info

Take a sized EMPTYING case , split the neck with a dremel cutoff length way , insert the bullet ( long )your using and chamber . Close bolt , open bolt carefully extract the case and measure .
50 bmg chamber design vary as much as any other . If it's actually chambered for 50 BMG military, it's pretty long . There's a few custom chamber designs for accuracy in the bolt gun .

.
5.45 for loading in mags maybe ,, At 5.8515, There is only 3/8" of the bullet contacting neck brass .. Thats what I loaded mine to for my Ar50 when I started shooting 50BMG,, Now, with some throat erosion, I have a .20" jump to the lands !
.

Hmmmm . Those measurements are with a modified case and an amax to the lands. I'm tempted to load to 5.800 and see how it goes. I've shot factory (HSM) amax's before which are loaded quite a bit shorter. In general are 50's sensitive to bullet jump or probably just depends on the rifle? Thanks for the info so far.
