Anshutz Rail

My bipod currently attaches to a single swivel stud. I would like to install some type of rail to the front end of the stock for better tracking and better ballance. I have a friend with a mil, what would be the best forend rail system to go with and where can you find one. I looked all over the net for a basic anshutz rail and couldn't find one for sale.

Try Brownell's

The Anschutz rail is not the same size as the US rail... so do a little research first to make sure that you can get rail adapters for the bipod you want.

I have a gen 3 sinclair bipod. I wanted to use a single swivel, but just be able to move it for better balance. Also, no matter how I try and tighten my current swivel stud, it is constantly moving under recoil.

I have a Savage Model 12 F/TR that comes standard with a rail. I liked the rail so much that I went to Savage Parts on the Savage website and ordered a rail to install on a different rifle. Not only can you buy a bipod for the rail but you can also buy or make a 3" wide plate, which I have done, that will attach to the rail and turn it in to a F class or a Benchrest rifle. I am going to have a wood working friend of mine cut a groove in the stock for the rail.

Try Champion Shooters Supply, they have both the US standard and the German Standard size rail, and sling stud adaptors for each.

The Champion aluminum rail section is designed for Anschutz type accessories. The Freeland/Winchester narrow rail section is found on Winchester 52's and other American made rifles. Each rail section blank is approximately 15" in length.

- Anschutz: A.400" B.520 C.290 D.870

- Freeland: A.330" B.450 C.400 D.640
