Anshutz Action Screw M6 x 0.75 mm Fine Thread for MEC Stock

Looking for some fine thread metric screw:

M6 x 0.75 mm Thread Size, 8 to 10 mm Long,

Hex Drive Flat Head

This is for anshutz 54 in a aluminum MEC stock. The original screws are a bit buggered/over torqued. Found a crack at base of head on one screw. Upon close examination, other screw shows a little deformation as well. Looking for replacements.

Dang M6 x 0.75 are basically unobtanium off the shelf (forget Ace hardware). Got some longer ones coming from McMaster Carr, but they will have to be cut down to fit. Trying to find other sources. But my google-fu ain't working too good.

Search Ebay they have socket head style however not flathead. Fastenals use to sell them in lots of 20 now you have to buy 500 at $1.60 each= $800.00

You would also be very happy with J & P Products. They have been supplying Anschutz Actions screws for many years. Torx head Action Screws - excellent quality.

Fantabulous. I added JP to my essential parts list.

I tapped mine to 1/4 x 28 and used socket head screws from the local hardware store. Just had to cut them to length.
I seriously considered this, but wanted to exhaust all other possibilities before doing so. Me and drill & taps don't always get along. I'd hate to really bugger things up.

I bought a metric die nut ,
Went to the hardware store and bought 1/4x20 Allen head bolts ( hard - grade 8 maybe ?) they had a long shoulder , chuck them up in a drill and use a file to hand machine them down a little in diameter where the threads go , cut to length , file a bevel on the edge to help start the die nut , cut your threads , I also cut a little off of the socket so it didn’t stick up so far or you can cut it flat then cut a slot in it
