A customer recently brought in a Anschutz 22 Sporter labeled on the barrel 22 Long Rifle. The owner bought the rifle second hand and after bringing it home he found it would not shoot 22 long rifle ammunition. I looked in the chamber with a bore scope and found it was chambered for 22 Short Ammunition only. I am familiar with Winchester 90s and other 22 target rifles that were chambered for 22 short only. Many were called gallery guns. The magazine was capable of 22 long rifles and the owner wanted to shoot long rifles in this rifle. I opened up the chamber to accomodate 22 Long rifles and it shoots great. Just wondering if any of you have seen this before.
