Another question ??

Did Ithaca make a copy of the win 94.

the reason i ask is I have 4 stocks with Ithaca butt plates on them and the closest i can com to identifying them is a win 94. they are real close but just dont look exact.

I believe they made a lever action .22 rimfire called the "Saddle Gun". Want to remember they made both a single shot and a repeater. Remember it had a die cast alloy frame. Pretty much a low cost youth gun.

(Model 49, 1961-78 single shot lever actuated Martini action, 49R, 1961-1971 similar in appearance but slide action repeater When in doubt go through the old Shooters Bibles. )

GGMAC, Butch or Shortgrass may have better info.

I've got one of the single shots leaning up across the room from me. My grandfather acquired it somewhere when I was a teenager. It does have a pot metal receiver, but it's pretty well thought out. The breech block pivots down when you move the lever for loading. It's an Ithaca Model 49,.22 mag.
In the link below it says Erma Werke made then with an anodized receiver and the stock was put on in the US.

And from what I’ve read, the Ithaca patents were purchased by Henry and that’s what is being built now.

Yup has to be off the 72 lever action they sold some time back. I had one and wished I never sold it. The rifle was made by Erme Werke W. Germany & marketed by Ithaca.
