We were going to wait till the automatic system was ready to be unveiled but with the F-Class rule book thread having some topics brought up I thought might as well.
Let me ask you this question what do you get for the money you turn in for running NRA and CMP matches?
Do you actually get a say in how the sport is ran and governed?
Do you actually have representation as a shooter, or as a club as a whole?
All you really get is a repository for scores and classifications. We all know each organization has its own drawbacks and both can be linked to the fact that they are ran by central bureaucracies where the people at the top stay there for money and control. There has to be a better option and there is.

How is it different for the shooter
Just like the other two organizations the shooter gets classifications, there are various other distinguished type programs and there are National Records. But where the difference lies is in the speed in efficiency.
Starting this year we have the automatic score tracking and classification program. Gone is the manual spreadsheet.
1. If you shoot on Shot Marker or SMT's you will download your target file then upload it onto the system. If shooting manual targets you will manual input the scores like you do on the NRA's website for approved matches. After scores are input it will automatically do the following.
a. Send you back a results sheet
b. Update your scores for classification
c. If you class up automatically email you your new classification card
d. If you set a National Record automatically update that
e. Keep a history of your scores and if shot on ET's show the targets.
We are currently working on the backend portion that will handle the above, which is the tough part. After that the user interface will be done. As soon as it is uploaded the shooters will have their updated classifications and cards sent to them before they get home. This is free for all clubs who shoot under USHPSA. This is not a dream it will be a reality and will happen. This is the central focus right now in the offseason to get this up and running. The coders are making very good headway on this.
2. Costs- There are no $4.50 or $5.50 per shooter costs or $20 for unlimited shooters. The only current cost for the organization is the website. Clubs shooting under USHPSA do not have to pay shooter fees. The fees for the above and other things have been taken care of those people already involved wanting to create a better organization. There is no reason to pay any fee for score keeping and classifications.
3. Regional medal- Regional medal dies were already commissioned and have been used since 2020. If you want to run regionals you as a club purchase the medals. There are also class champion medals available.
How is it different Administratively
First off we are growing for 2020-2021 seasons it was three clubs (CIHPRS, Fall Creek, and Sycamore). But in 2022 Colorado Rifle club joined lead by Matt Peetz and for 2023 Aurora Sportsmen's club led by Jim Stob has joined. As more clubs join we will grow and get more people involved in the direction of the organization.
1. The clubs have the say in the direction of the club. This is not and never was intended as an organization to be ran by one person. As an example those of us involved have talked through several issues and decided in which direction to go. The majority of these items were in the growth of the organization. So as the organization grows those club reps will meet to make decisions and the direction of the organization.
2. The club gets their input from their shooters whom they represent. The goal is for shooters to have a direct and open path to the direction of the organization in how it works. This way people know if stuff is talked about and who is involved.
3. We don't have people who have a job or make money running this organization. This helps fix a lot of the problems you see with other organizations. There aren't people who don't actively shoot but are life members of committees making up rules for the active shooters to follow. The reps are active shooters themselves.
What are other possibilities?
1. Growth- As we get more members we get more ideas brought forward by the shooters.
2. National Championship- There has been talk about this, Matt has some really great ideas coming from his club members.
3. National Team Support- Could USHPSA be the home of National Teams if they would chose to come over yes. We have decided instead of having BODs that the team has to respond to the best option would be to let the teams be incharge of what they do.
4. Whatever ideas the clubs come up with that the organization decides to do.
Requirements to become a USHPSA member club
1. You just let us know your joining.
2. You submit and run your match results through USHPSA. If you chose you can still submit scores to NRA or CMP
3. At this time there is no membership requirement for the individual shooters and no fees for the clubs. This may change but we are setting this up so the costs are minimal. This way the money can stay with the clubs to serve their shooters.
We realize there will be people against this but Jim, Matt, and I want to put this out there to people that there is another option. But ask yourself what are you getting for your money? Why not be able to have a voice and a say? Why keep complaining about organization(s) but then keep supporting the same organization(s) you are complaining about?
