Another new ammunition manufacture?

https://rangerscientific.net is building a facility at the site of the old Montgomery WV high school. According to the Ranger web site in the drop down under "About" both Daniel Pearlson, CEO, and Michael Blank, COO, have firearms and ammunition manufacturing and management experience. They state that they are the largest manufacture of proof rounds in the US. In another drop down the reference their "harmonic ammunition" and some independent testing results.

The venture is funded in part by a 7.5(M) Dept. Of Agriculture grant. A search on the net for "old Montgomery WV high school building" should lead you to a current WSAZ news clip of demolition work to facilitate the initial facility and comments from an interview with Pearlson. Stan may have some input regarding this venture, his hometown is just a stone's throw down the river from Montgomery.

Time will tell where this all actually ends up.

Ranger will market a range of reasonably priced brands that are each more than twice the accuracy of even the most expensive mass-produced competitor. Ranger will transform the worldwide market in small arms ammunition and dominate the market in a way not seen since brass cartridges replaced muzzle-loaded musket-balls.

WOW!

"Years ago, the first time I ever tried using harmonically-tuned ammunition, it was for target practice at one thousand yards. The increase in accuracy was undeniable. The accuracy of my 7mm Remington was increased from a spread the size of a refrigerator, to within three inches. Today I use custom-made ammunition at a cost of $22.50 per round, and I can tell you that, for me, there's no option. There's just no other way to put a bullet exactly where I need it to go. I've used tuned ammunition ever since."

Going from the size of a refrigerator to a 3" group. World records will fall like dominos.

…and here all along, I figured that when I am having a good day my shit is pretty well harmonically tuned.

I had the same reaction.

I just read what they have to say.
Apparently their plan is to see ammo with varying amounts of powder - so a shooter can buy lots of ammo with small changes in the powder charge and find the load that is best in their rifle.
So, you'd be able to 'tune' at least the powder charge.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays in the market.

At the same time, they are only bringing assembly capacity - not making any components.

Simply read the "about"portion of the header, very interesting information there. If the investment funding is good, it should be very interesting in the near future.

Another new one is AMMO INC. They are building a manufacturing facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona

Tune it before you shoot it...good luck.
Not exactly.
They are planning to provide ammo with a 'ladder' of powder charges - same thing we do.
Their use of the word tune is obviously different than what benchrest shooters do - but it is one of the steps.

I did love the whole 'gov'mint secrecy' about forming the AMU.:D

My problem with this is, you still have to buy the ammo to see
if it works, Do you buy a whole ladder worth ?? I can't imagine
anyone in the target community buying into this. The variables
are off the chart. Going to need more info on their brands of
components used and how the cases are prepped. Powder charges
are one thing but a case being filled that has'n't been fire formed
or a certain neck tension or even neck size makes this questionable,
not unless they reinvented SAMMI ?? I'll follow along and let this
play out. At least more ammo can come to market.

I have exactly the same question about how they are going to do in the market.
With my limited knowledge, it seems this might attract shooters who aren't reloading but are struck with the idea of finding a load 'tuned' to their rifle. If so, then the shooter would be encouraged to continue to buy ammo with the 'tuned' load from them. Seems like a niche, but niches can be profitable.
One could go on to speculate that their business plan has this as their way of getting established, then expanding.

We’ve already seen others come to market recently and fail miserably… In this veritable oasis of ammo sales, they alone have found the desert”…. True velocity ammo
Why cant these rhodes scholar ceos see what the market wants and cater to the 99.99% instead of that one guy with too much money?

For their payday. If you can just get a 'breakthrough' idea off the ground and profitable [with creative accounting practices], the founders and top management get a nice payday when the company is bought.

It's very chic in Rhodes scholar circles. :)

In no circle does it make sense to cater to one customer when you can crank out 223/9mm by the billions and develop your laser focused rounds on the side, funded by the staple that the market wants now. Side projects are good

Sounds more like a long term but sure enough way to end private reloading, At least for the long range crowd, Just one more control, Think they might be a bit nervous?

I know always find the bad instead of the good....

I’m just not seeing that at all.
