Here's another from my pops (ARW) and I + his dad shooting groundhogs.

Thanks Randy. For some reason the video is stalling out. I'll try to fix it this afternoon, if not I'll have to upload it again.

Great shooting alan ...The one you guys shot at 360 yards near the end looked to be huge...

Yes it was a big one, probably the largest one we have taken so far this year.

It was definitely eating well, lol!

Just guessing, but I would imagine it was well over 10lbs.

Thanks Lou!

It's been a while, good to hear from you!

Are you getting a chance to go out after the chucks?

Alan

That's rediculous.

You guys are giggling, messing up, making excuses (trigger, shaky) hitting, missing, forgetting the safety and just carrying on ... without me.

Makes me feel good to feel bad not being there.

Al,
I've been out several times but haven't connected. I've taken a shot at one @455 yds. and the cross winds have skunked me. I just picked up a Leica 1600B rangefinder that has a built in ballistics program which will tell how many clicks to come up. It is very accurate and compares to actual field shooting as far as come up clicks. The wind is a different story.

Good to hear from you Al. Did you decide to get a Cooper?

Yeah Captain, we are just three big kids out there unsupervised and just having fun, lol.

That Leica sounds pretty high-tech Lou, bet it works well also.

Distance is usually pretty constant unless the target is moving, but the wind as you know, is typically changing or switchy at best.

You would really be in business if you had a wind detector that worked as well as that Leica rangefinder! If you could catch it not "re-calculating" that is, lol!

No Cooper, but I am getting a 22BR. It is getting chambered right now and hopefully will be done soon. I'm pretty excited about it too.

Good luck with the chucks and keep us posted.

Alan

Al,
I bought the Leica because my old Bushnell just was shot. The Leica is top shelf and compact; a really nice unit. I've ranged out to 1200 yds. with it. The ballistic program for come up clicks only goes to 800 yds. but that's plenty good for chucks. Bear Basin has a great deal with a GE line of credit. You buy, and can pay back in a year with no interest. I bought my Nightforce from them the same way.

That 22 BR sounds like a good caliber to have. I've looked at that for maybe a future barrel but for right now I'm sticking to the ones I'm set for. As you well know by the time you have the dies, brass, everything tweaked and set, you have time and money spent.

Stay in touch and good luck shooting.

Lou
