Annealing machine

I know this has been covered numerous times . . .

But who has the best . . .

Giraud

Benchsource

Ballistic Edge

I will be annealing anything from 6br, 223 up to 338 Lapua's, so what would be my best choice.

Or is there a homemade manchine east to make?

Dennis your gonna get a bunch of different answers...

I have the Bensource and it has served me well...one plate is all I need from .223 thru .338LM...quick and simple to set up and away you go with it.

I'm sure they all have the merits

Benchsource. Compact and works for everything with minimal set up. Can't go wrong!

I have a ballistic edge and love it.The one good thing about the giraud is it takes up less space on your counter top. The giraud spins the case also and the benchsource does too.

Another happy Bench-Source owner. I do a little annealing business on the side* and having one plate that works with everything and two adjustable torches makes adjusting to different calibers simple.

The owner, David Dorris, was pleasant to deal with and had a lot of good information/instruction to share.

I was asking the same question not long ago.

I went with Giraud. I am pleased with my decision.

I chose a ballistic edge over benchsource because the benchsource uses a proprietary circuit vs a generic run of the mill motor. I'm thinking of years down the line when something breaks: how hard is it to get replacement parts.

Went Giraud and love it. It's a no lose situation from the looks of it, owners of both machines are extremely happy customers and that is saying something because both are shelling out in the neighborhood of $500.

I like the Giraud because I don't have to hand feed one at a time. A couple minutes to set up for any cartridge then load er up and let er run. Does all my sizes with equal quality.
I stay in the room just to keep and eye on it, but I am able to do other things.
A HUGE benefit for me.

I'm certain you would be happy with the others. There is a good reason so many people have the others mentioned, they work very well.

This is just my opinion on my machine. I've not had it long, but so far, I love it.

A+ on the benchsource. I bought mine several months ago and have had complete success with it, and it is easy to use. One shell plate instead of several. Excellant instructions on how to use and set up.

Going from 308 to 6br is as simple as removing one screw and shuffling some washers. takes about 10 min. I load up 300 cases and let it run while i size brass.

I Bought the Ken Light from a forum member a few months ago, it does okay but,.....you have to have multiple plates and at $65 per plate now it makes it one of if not the most expensive annealer's out there, I would look hard at the Giraud or Benchsource. After using the Ken Light I think it is important to have a machine that has variable speed control, spinning while rotating would be nice and or pausing in the flames momentary then starting again. I think that Ken Light has the best instructions on annealing out there but is a little lacking on his machine, his machine is built of the highest quality I just think there may be better designs out there. These of course are just my opinions and I am new to annealing myself and I could be totally wrong.
Wayne.
