Sunny, warm, switching winds, a lovely day on the mountain. We welcomed 2 shooters new to us clear from Lancaster today. We enjoyed meeting you men and hope you return. Also a new shooter from Brockway, come back again Rick. The holiday and multiple shoots in the area limited attendance but the competition was still tight. We shoot a 2 shot per individual bull format at 200 and 300 yards so 12 shots per 6 bull target. Jeff Gates and Mike Hagen both shot 123 scores on a target that represented the high score for an individual target, but you must shoot 2 good targets to win, hmmmm one of them failed to do that. Mike won the side group match with 5 shots in .668 in despite the wind. The fellows who shot two good targets to win money are:
Custom Class, First Ed Rethi 244, Nice job and congratulations Ed.
Second Bob Horton 242 (Our cook today, excellant food as always)
Third Mike Hagen 241
Custom Unlimited First Gary Felege 217
Custom Wide First Fernando Motta 235
Factory Unlimited First Joe Last 228
Next Sunday Sept 11 will be the Groundhog Match. Come spend a day on the mountian.

Pictures show the Results, Sample Target, A class from an all Aluminum stocked rifle built by club member Jim Johnson sitting on a custom aluminum rest he also crafted to a common hunting rifle, and our winners. First row Joe Last, Gary Felege, Mike Hagen. Second row Fernando Motta,Ed Rethi,Bob Horton, Rick Verne

Not mentioning names here, but......The guy on bench 2 was on fire
with putting two center dot hits on his very first "Bull". Second "bull"
had a shot the landed near Nome Alaska. All remaining shots were back
where they should be. More then a head scratcher !!

And let me tell you how to pick up another 16 points by cutting a part
off your rifle with a borrowed pocket knife ?? or not.....

See Yinz on the 18th.....
