And she’s back with new hardware

Sent my cz 527 Kevlar varmint in 204R to pac nor for a new barrel in June. Yesterday it arrived back and they matched my barrel profile perfectly.
I was bummed when they told me they no longer had the zero freebore reamer and only had a 0.62 one.
Another member on here offered his reamer with not quite zero but after speaking with him I was convinced it would be perfect (I’ll let member speak up if he chooses)
Originally I was going with a 10 twist and 26” barrel but this member offerred some solid advice and decided on 11 twist and to leave it at 24.
I also had it bead blasted and the smooth thread protector is almost invisible where it’s threaded
Instopped by Bruno’s today and picked up a bushing die and a bushing the member recommends since his reamer had a tighter neck then sammi.
Time to load up some rounds for break in and a pack of bronze brushes should be arriving tomorrow

Got my Criterion 204 match barrel put on tonight. Ordered a prefit from NSS a while back. Had a RBLP action I could not get sold, so I put it to use. I forget chamber specs but shorter throat than a factory but will still shoot factory ammo, I have a fair bit left.
It is a 1-11” twist, so plan is to feed it 39-40 grain bullets as my 20VT handles the light stuff well enough.
It may or may not see use in a few weeks. One more late dog hunt this year and have to odds and ends of various ammo that needs used up.

Yeah that’s what I plan to shoot is the 40s. I got tired of never finding 39sbk and have bunch of vmax so hoping I can get these to group. Which powder to load with
Cfe223
H4198
8208xbr

I use CFE223.
I had good luck with 8208 until it was all gone, then all but unobtainable.
H4198, almost chuckle anymore when I see mention of it. I burned the last of mine several years ago. I have not seen any more n shelves for probably 12-15 years. I doubt any will ever be made again.

I will throw my $$ at VV any more.

Since you have it start the 40's with 8208. You likely will run with the 8208 until out of it, or barrel is gone again.
That’s what I was thinking. I have 5 lbs that I located and reserved it for this rifle but wondered if my plan was what others would do.

Fern, I've had the best luck with my P/N 11T and the 39/40's with RL-10X, and excellent results with 8208 too. From reading others success with this caliber, it appears CFE 223 is another one to try. You'll also want to work up a load using the 32's, as the terminal effects are what I'd term "spectacular" and they're no slouch past 300 yds either.

Nice looking rig you've put together, what will you scope her with?

I have a leupold 3-18 on it now. I wanted to grab another zeiss 4-24 like I have on my 20tac but will have to wait and make this work.
I was in local shop and they had R10x but man that has jumped in price like everything else ($350 for 5lbs).
The 8208 I have is reserved for the 204 so should last for a while. I have some 32s but plenty of 40s.
Just ordered more patches since I am going to go through fair amount in break in process

Both Leupold and Zeiss are both top tier, you should be fine with either.

Glad I'm still sitting on enough of all the powders I use that were purchased prior to this madness, along with primers. It will be interesting to see if any changes come about after this election (groan). At this stage of the economy, you gotta' grab a good deal if/when one comes about. Hope your load development goes well and you find "THE" load soon after starting. This stuff is getting crazy expensive, and we don't want to spend $100+ just to work up that pet load. Best of luck in that regard.
