An Observation

As a frequent traveler I noticed that just in the last few weeks Hudson News at both SeaTac and Anchorage International has removed virtually all of their gun magazines. Guns & Ammo seems to be the only one left. Business decision or ......?
Like I said, an observation. Take it for what it's worth.

Also, the post office, at several locations, has asked if there is a firearm in the box...

Yup, sorta like the burning of books and individual documents, trash like the Declaration, the Constitution, and especially that Bill of Rights nonsense, to prevent all such from further poisoning the minds of their sheeple.

We lost Precision Shooting as a result of websites and forums such as those here. I'm not uncomfortable with that, I find more useful stuff here daily.

Not quite on topic:

The 'Net and ubiquitous smartphones (including those provided as an 'entitlement' to those who'd otherwise be unable to afford them or the plan on which they run) are obvious 'force-multipliers' when it comes to the decline of civil discourse.

Newspapers are in a serious decline. I'm a newspaper guy, try to read one where ever I am. Most, anymore, are barely worth the price.

I like newspapers too, but I also know they go to press (bed) at about 9 to 10 every night, so anything after that won't make it into the paper. Sports scores for the opposite coast (left) won't get in due to the 3 hour tape delay.

No doubt the internet has influenced the media. Thirty years ago I subscribed to Precision Shooting, American Rifleman, Shooting Times, Hand Loader, Rifle Magazine, Field & Stream, outdoor Life, and some State Wildlife Magazines. Today I subscribe to Hand Loader, Rifle Magazine, Successful Hunter on line. Still get some State Wildlife Magazines. I get the American Rifleman, NSSF Publications, IDPA, and USPSA Publications. I read Accurate Shooter, Benchrest Central, Long-range Hunting, and Accurate Reloading on line.

I am and have always been a big reader of printed magazines. Also love reading on a plane flight. But after Sept 11, 2001 I stopped bringing gun magazines onto an airplane. If others are doing the same maybe the absence of gun mags in the airport store is just due to lack of sales.

I think that what gets carried is whatever sells (or sells out).

I think that a newsstand owner who arbitrarily chooses to pass up sales of something because of a political bias is a bad businessman, and should reap what they sew.

Putting it another way, if I only had friends who agreed with me, I wouldn't have friends.
