AMP AZTEC settings question

Hi everyone,

I am using the new AMP with the AZTEC for the first time trying to anneal my 284 Norma brass. I ran the AZTEC and got 166 for the setting. The only think am curios about is that it doesn't look like it's annealing up the should at all. There is no discoloration?? The neck is changing color.
Any advice. Is it because I'm used to seeing the flame discoloration?

Frank, you can't judge by color. Trust the machine. If it is of any help I installed the new AZTEC software this weekend and ran another analysis on unturned Norma .284 brass and got a reading of 0169 on the single case I tested...right in the ballpark with yours.

That was what I was thinking. I'm sure the flame method causes oxidation and gives some of the color on the case.
I'm going to run them all through and see how the feel sizing them.

With my Norma brass for a 6.5X284 norma my number is still fairly consistent with yours here is a photo of the settings for various brass that I use it is a rough comparison only but I hope it helps. Also this is only for the lot of brass that I have now if I were to get a new lot of brass would retest
