ammo temps, air temps, barrel temps?? and SHOOTER App

maybe wrong forum again(reloading better?)-
after my post on the gear forum re LabRadar and heat, I'll pose another question--

powder temps/air temps at loading vs going to the bench vs actually shooting vs competing?
south Texas example-room load temp say 72, summer morning load development/sight in say 80, afternoon competition 100-105. what do most people do? keep barrels in A/c as long as possible, keep ice pack in ammo box?
and In "SHOOTER" app it ask for powder temps when you put your load in, do you change that or does the app correct for current temp when you refresh/calculate and assumes your powder temp is now air temp? I know all data needs to be verified on the range, just trying to get the science/math/computer part right so as to not mess with my headspace...(between my ears,Ha!)
Thanks
Mark

A high volume air pump blowing into the chamber and down the barrel will cool quickly. Also, keep the sun off the barrel as much as possible. If you warm your barrel with 2-3 rounds first, then try to keep that as your base temperature. You may try keeping the ammo in a small cooler but not touching the ice packs. I shot .308's in 90° temp with the heat index right at 100° this summer and I can keep the barrel cool enough to hold on to with 30-60 seconds of air down the barrel. I used to sit the rifle on the stock and let convection cool it and that could take up to 4-5 minutes in the shade. I use these and and about an 18" soft thick walled hose. There are other 12v rechargeable battery packs that are smaller.
