I don't think anything will change in the short run.
On any given day, I can go to one of the big three in town (Scheels, Sportsmans Warehouse, or Cabelas) and if I want 30-06, 7 Rem Mag, 7 or 300 WSM hunting ammo I can usually find it. Anything else is a long shot, and two of the stores' employees have told me that I need to get there early each morning to get any primers, 22LR, etc. because IF it comes in it doesn't last long.
There is one major ammo supplier that comes to the larger gun shows here, the last two shows' ticket purchase lines were extremely long, and the lines to get ammo from them were just as bad. As an example, I recognized one woman from the line that had already purchased tickets, she was still in the ammo purchase line at 11:00am. She was in what I estimate was the front 20% of the ammo purchase line. These lines were not this bad after The Anointed one was elected the first time.
