All of us may be in for sticker shock on ammo in this free for all, when it shows up for sale. I bought this same ammo last year from them for $43.99 .https://www.brownells.com/ammunitio...r-140gr-boat-tail-hollow-point-prod99007.aspx
Yes Sir, and it may have been just this Spring. Was it a 50 count box when you bought it?
Let's be very clear about this. That is 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition. It has unlimited muzzle velocity without excess pressure. It has unlimited range. Its accuracy/precision is limited solely by the shooter. It has infinite knockdown power and in some cases can even shoot around corners. They could charge twice as much and it would STILL be a bargain. All of us may be in for sticker shock on ammo in this free for all, when it shows up for sale. Joshb, Got a better one than that. Many years ago, a friend of mine had his wife buy him some deer hunting ammo. She hauled a case of 30-06, 1000 rounds total and she bought it for about $10, the price of 20 rounds. Guess once the shock of this wore off, I would have returned to the store and made the mistake right. He didn't.A couple years ago, I walked into my local gun store and spied a big cardboard box full of ammo on a side table. It had a few boxes I could use but it had a lot of 30-06 for $15-20/box. I bought it figuring someday I might need it. Glad I did!View attachment 1220370
The tendency came down thru the men in my family. If you see a deal on something you might need, buy a lot of it. My Grandfather was a boat builder. I found boxes of new tools in his attic. Are you expecting the deer around your place to organize an attack? LOL Better get an M1 to shoot all that.
I like your thinking. Buy the ammo first and then you have a reason to buy another gun.The tendency came down thru the men in my family. If you see a deal on something you might need, buy a lot of it. My Grandfather was a boat builder. I found boxes of new tools in his attic.
I found 20 cases of shotgun shells in my Dad’s attic.
My wife says I’m a hoarder.
I think I’m prepared, ‘cause I did finally find a nice ‘06.View attachment 1220434
Was anyone biting at those prices?I went to a gun show today and those that had ammo were insane. for CF ammo, including shotgun shells, was running from $1 per shot to $3 per shot. 6.5 CMoor was $60 for 20 rounds.
I saw a few primers that were aged at best. Wolf SR Std for $100 per 1000.
There was a lot of activity around the ammo tables. However, I didn't see any money changing hands. I am sure some of them was spending their lunch money. Was anyone biting at those prices?
