I searched the forum for "Precision-Guided" and for "Tracking-point" and neither resulted in a hit, so here is my post.

From Fox news:

Using a TrackingPoint Precision-Guided rifle, Kaya was able to win over Bruce Piatt. The video included with the Fox News article provides few details of the match, but very few or no specifics of the type in which we would be interested were given.

Excerpt from the article:

The rifles?

Piatt competed with the current military rifles M4A1, M110, and M2010.

Taya Kyle opted for TrackingPoint's new M600, M800 and XS1 firearms. TrackingPoint touts advanced technology to enhance the accuracy of first-round shots at any distance

About the rifle Kaya used:

I thought it was interesting.

What type of NRA Champion is Mr. Pratt?

Moderator: Rick -- here's what they're talking about:

Bruce Piatt won the second annual NRA World Shooting Championship (WSC). This is a multi-discipline event involving pistols, rifles, shotguns. Rifle shooting was out to 1K and beyond. Bruce competed against some very talented shooters including previous winner SFC Daniel Horner, who is blazing fast and very accurate. Piatt won fair and square in a very tough event and he deserves the title of WSC Champ.

Ive been watching tracking point. I think they have a very good concept and this proves it. I also like that they want to donate 10 rifles to anybody that wants to put em to use in syria. They figure itll be like 200 guns in the field having the 20x advantage

Bruce Piatt Training Concepts, LLC. goal is to offer personalized lessons in competitive shooting and the tactical application of firearms. Bruce’s 32 years experience as a Law Enforcement officer and World Champion competitive shooter allows him to offer this wide range of training. As an LE officer, he was a firearms instructor, tactical team coordinator and street cop, while at the same time, he maintained a full schedule of competitive matches as a professional shooter. Throughout his career, he accumulated World and National titles in USPSA/IPSC, Steel Challenge, Bianchi Cup, Sportsman’s Team Challenge, Masters Pistol Championship and SOF Tactical 3-Gun Championships. Bruce recognizes that every person is different in size, strength, equipment and skill level. His teaching technique is not to force a student into shooting a specific style but to tailor the lessons to best fit your needs. To aid you in maximizing your own strengths, finding your weaknesses and helping your develop a training regimen to improve your skill level.

Let's just say he ain't David Tubb or Carl Bernosky!

How about he wasn't really trying to win. Hit % of about 50% vs 100% he was in the bag.

some of the targets were blind shots, no view from concealment. Cool for demoing the technology, but not really a good demo of making someone a better shot

If you think Bruce wasn't trying, there was $1 million put up if he won. Taya Kyle won $500K for her husband's foundation "Chris Kyle Frog Foundation" If Piatt had won, he could have donated half his winnings to support the charity, and still had a nice paycheck.

One thing about the Tracking Point is that you have to have the budget of a rich nation to be able to afford one. Kudos to them for developing the technology. Some day our country will have it to be used by our "The Good Guys."
